New building for the ministry of irrigation was designed in Damascus, Syria. The main entrance of the building was 4 Steel arched trusses, structurally indeterminate, and 4 columns treated architecturally. The entrance structure consisted of: pipes, channels, tubes and glass panels as a ceiling. The Ministry signal was 3D steel trusses, the front panel was 3 x 10 m, and all members were fabricated using HSS and fixed on the roof of the ministry by means of welding plates with the existing column reinforcement. See Appendix for further clarifications.
My Role in the Project (in Detail):
1) I performed the structural analysis and design of the two parts (the entrance and the signal). The models were performed using STAAD III, space grillage using bar elements. See figure (127).
2) I drew the detailed drawings and calculated the quantities, see figure (128).
3) I collaborated with the client representatives to produce the specifications.
