Description of the Project:
The bridge had 3 spans, reinforced concrete solid slabs, massive piers and abutments. See Appendix for figure (112).
My Role in the Project (in Detail):
I joined the inspection team that inspected the bridge. I specified the grade for each deficiency, the grade for each component, and at the end the overall grade for the whole bridge. This procedure was according to FHWA Coding Guide. The bridge grade was used to get the degree of deterioration, right repair and rehabilitation methodology and the best time to run the maintenance taking into account the assigned budget. The bridge has had some moderate deteriorations, and it was considered as grade 6 which means satisfactory condition that implied a major maintenance work by the next summer. I did not find major structural deficiencies and according to that no structural evaluation was carried out.
